The trip

Well, we started our trip out on the wrong foot (no pun intended), but it's looking up!
I'll explain...
Danielle and I planned on going on the 12:20 ferry on saturday. She called me at 9 to tell me that it might be a good idea to go on the 2:20 instead.
Why?
Because while she was walking home the night before, she fell in a hole and thought she broke her foot.

Yay.

After our call, she went to the doctor and he said it was a sprained ligament and that he didn't think it was broken, but it was going to take a couple of days to heal.

Ok, this could work out...considering I've been really lax on packing, and still have most of my room to pack up.

Because we were now taking the next ferry, I had to take the bus.
Picture this:
Dayna
a big suitcase on wheels being pulled behind me
a backpack
a laptop bag on one shoulder
and a smaller suitcase on the other
speed walking through Gibsons
trying to NOT miss the bus.

I found it kinda amusing....until I missed my bus.

Luckily, my friend Tyler saw me at the bus stop and took me to the ferry.

There I finally got to see the damage to Danielle's foot, and it was pretty grim. Not only was her foot swollen, but she had a huge gash on one side.

Not pretty.

Anyway, nothing bad happens from the ferry to boston pizza, where we had dinner and watched the hockey game with some friends.

But near the end of the 3rd period, I looked over to Danielle and she wasn't looking too good...

We said goodbye to everyone and I took her to LD to get some things for her foot.

At this point, I'd like to say how much I love Danielle. No matter how crappy she feels, she can still be silly.

Justin and I are looking for things like, tensor bandage, gauze, witch hazel, advil...and Danielle is nowhere in sight. We figured she was just slowly hobbling to where we were, but then she grabs me from behind. I turn around and there she is, wearing this monster Halloween mask and loving every minute of it.

We finally get home, repack our bags, I got rid of a bunch of stuff, we get danielle's foot all set up, and it's time for bed.
Except I can't sleep.
Too many things are going on in my head.
So I took my blanket, went out on the deck, and cried for the first time in regards to leaving. I was mostly really overwhelmed by the events of the day, but I was also quickly realizing how long 8 months really is. Luckily my dad was there to help me in my mini meltdown and I went to sleep soon after.

Today, is sunday.
We're in YVR, waiting to board our 1st plane, which will probably happen in about 20 minutes. The check-in lady was AMAZING! I wish I had gotten her name. she totally took care of us and you can tell she just loved what she was doing....totally impressed.
Thanks to danielle's foot, we've been given preferential treatment. Got to ride around on golf carts, and we'll be one of the first to board. I think it took us maybe 10 minutes from the check out to our gate. No problems, no waiting in line.

I'm writing this part in LAX. I must say the first thing I noticed, was how much nicer our airport is. But again, no problems.
The flight was uneventful, besides take off and landing, which always seems to fascinate me to no end.
I was worried about this airport because I didn't know what to expect. But we landed at terminal 2 and we're leaving from terminal 2. In fact, our arrival gate is also our departure gate.
And we didn't have to go through any security, and our bags were tagged to fly with us...sweet deal.
But because we didn't have to worry about any of that...we've been waiting...for 3 hours, and we've got another one to go.
FUN FUN!

Holy Lap of luxury Batman! The Air NZ plane was above and beyond everything I could've imagined. We had our own t.v screen with a remote, and you could choose what you want to watch, when you want to watch it, including movies, t.v shows and games(sudoku and tetris:)). Danielle and I had an extra seat between us, which she put to good use. Danielle slept for about 5 hours, while I watched her sleep...I think I ended up only getting out 2 hours myself.
